BASILEUS MESSAGE

Greetings,

I greet you in the name of the Supreme Basileus of the Universe.  On behalf of the Esteemed Brethren of the Sigma Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., I would like to welcome you and thank you for visiting our website.  It is a great honor to lead this amazing group of professional, service-oriented men, as we strive to serve our community, exemplifying the Four Cardinal Principles of our beloved fraternity: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift; leaving a lasting legacy of leadership, labor and love in the City of Chesapeake and across the Hampton Roads area.

Founded in 1911 at Howard University, Omega Psi Phi is a brotherhood of college educated, Christian men, committed to: furthering moral excellence, and having courage and bravery in the face of adversity (Manhood); understanding the importance of education (Scholarship); framing the importance working for and attaining set goals (Perseverance); and encouraging the sharing of one’s talents with the community to aid and lead (Uplift).  Our fraternity spans the globe and has been at the forefront of community empowerment for well over 100 years.  The work and actions across our various chapters all work in concert to together, embody the Fraternity’s motto, “Lifting as we climb.”

Since 1998, the Sigma Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi has focused our efforts on spreading the shining light of Omega across our region.  Affectionally known as, “The Working Chapter,” we are committed to developing and implementing programs and projects aimed at improving the condition of those in need.  From our food drives and various charity efforts to our mentoring and scholarship programs, we are here to provide “work’ on behalf of our citizenry. In partnership with the Community Resource Opportunity Project (C.R.O.P.) Foundation, we are committed providing relief for the marginalized and less fortunate, while supporting those reaching for greatness.

As the Basileus, I thank the Brothers of Sigma Kappa Kappa for their tireless efforts in support of the work of the chapter.  And again, I thank you for taking the time to visit our website.  I encourage you to explore this site to find out more about our projects, programs, and services.

Peace and blessings be with you.
